TUTORS

We are seeking tutors for Harper High School students. Grade levels are 9, 10, 11, and 12.

 

Qualifications. We ask our tutors have the following qualifications.

• Must currently be a college or university student or, have experience as a volunteer tutor.
• Must possess a 3.0 or higher grade point average.
• Tutors work a minimum of five (5) hours per week during school hours, or three (3) hours a week during after school hours.

Training.

All tutors can receive training, which could benefits them as well as the youth they help. Northeastern Illinois University will invite tutors to attend their annual training seminar.

The series of classes is facilitated by experts in education, social work, and psychology. Tutors are taught research-based strategies to provide goal directed tutoring.
